Southfield, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) women's tennis team will play two away matches this week, the first one on Wednesday, September 19 at 4:00 PM against Adrian College (Mich.), and the second against Indiana University Kokomo (Ind.) on Saturday, September 22 at 2:00 PM. The Blue Devils hold a 3-1 lead on the all-time series against the Bulldogs. LTU also leads the all-time series against the Cougars 1-0.
This season, the Blue Devil hold a 1-1 record. The team won its first match of the season against Taylor University (Ind.) with a score of 7-2. However, the following week they lost 0-9 against Michigan Technological University (Mich.). The Blue Devils participated on the ITA Regional Tournament at Indiana Wesleyan University (Ind.) this past week. Anusha Varudandi (SO/Parkland, Fla) was the top Blue Devil in the singles draw. Sabrina Mateos (JR/Mexico City, Mexico) and Varudandi were the top Blue Devil pairing in the doubles draw.
Adrian College arrives at the match against LTU with a 0-1 record. The Bulldogs lost their first competition of the season against Indiana University East (Ind.) with a score of 9-0. The Bulldogs also participated on the Hope Invitational, hosted by Hope College (Mich.), this past weekend.
Indiana University Kokomo will face Grace College (Ind.) and Trine University (Ind.) this week prior to their match against LTU. As of today, the Cougars have a 1-2 record after being defeated by Huntington University (Ind.) and Bethel College (Ind.), with a score of 7-2 and 9-0 respectively, and beating Anderson University (Ind.) with a score of 5-4.
