SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University football team fell to No. 14 Concordia (Mich.) University – Ann Arbor on Saturday, November 9 to wrap up their home schedule. The Blue Devils head to Taylor (Ind.) University to close their first complete season in the Mid-States Football Association.
Lawrence Tech (1-8, 0-5) was led by Tyler Kulka who went 17-for-34 for 200 yards and a touchdown. Derrick Hinton Jr. finished the game with 129 yards on nine catches and one touchdown. Ahmad Sabbagh finished with 23 yards on 14 carries while Spencer Iaquinto had one rush for 16 yards.
The Blue Devils opened the game allowing a 63-yard touchdown run, but the Blue Devils responided on the next drive, going 80 yards in 4:23 to tie the game at 7-7 as Tyler Kulka found Derrick Hinton Jr. for a 24-yard touchdown.
Concordia (7-2, 3-2) answered right back with a 65-yard touchdown pass to Morrison to take a 14-7 lead. Lawrence Tech looked like it was going to answer with a 66-yard return, but a fumble at the end of the run gave the ball back to Concordia. The Cardinals responded with a touchdowns with a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 28-7 lead into the break.
The Cardinals came out at halftime and added three touchdowns in the third quarter to extend their lead to 49-7. Dailey, Sinclair, and Graham each had touchdown runs in the quarter. Sinclair led Concordia in rushing with 185 yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns. Morrison went 9-for-17 for 199 yards and two touchdowns.
Lawrence Tech ends the season on Saturday, November 16 when they travel to Taylor (Ind.) University. Opening kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST in Upland, Ind.
